Course Overview
Year 11 at AIS consists of a range of academic and engaging subjects from the wide range of sace subjects available to students. Year 11 is the first stage of senior schooling in South Australia. It is the aim of this year of study for students to show their agency in choosing subjects, engaging in academic and action-based learning, and gaining strong self-efficacy.
Year 11 subjects are a combination of compulsory and elective learning leading students to be well-rounded members of the global community.
The compulsory SACE subjects in Stage 1 are:
- Mathematics
- English
- Exploring Identities and Futures
The elective SACE subjects in Stage 1 vary according to student choice.
AIS offers a combination of the following subjects currently:

- Essential Mathematics

- Biology

- Health and Wellbeing

- Chinese for Background Speakers

Stage 1 SACE requires an IELTS of 5.0 for students to engage.
